Welsh independence campaigners have announced plans for a march in Barry this Spring.
YesCymru and AUOB Cymru have staged a number of pro-independence rallies in towns and cities across Wales since 2019 - the most recent event was held in Carmarthen last June.
The Barry event will be held on Saturday 26th April.
The two grassroots organisations say the marches demonstrate "growing support for an independent Wales, uniting communities from all corners of the country in a shared vision of self-determination."
In October 2022, a similar march held in Cardiff attracted an estimated 10,000 people.
Phyl Griffiths, chairman of YesCymru, said: "YesCymru is dedicated to the goal of an independent Wales that embraces and celebrates the full diversity of everyone who has made Wales their home."
"Join us in Barry on April 26, 2025, to make your voice heard and stand with thousands of others who believe in a brighter, independent future for Wales."
The Cadoxton area of Barry was home to the first Welsh branch of the Cymru Fydd (Young Wales) movement for Welsh home and self-governance at the turn of the 20th century.
Two years after it was founded in Bethel Chapel, Cymru Fydd members won seats in Barry's first council elections in 1894.
According to the organisers, Cymru Fydd emerged "as a response to the growing desire among the Welsh people for self-governance."
Plaid Cymru councillor Mark Hooper, one of the organisers of the Barry march, said: "The historical significance of Cymru Fydd in the 1890s serves as a powerful reminder of our collective voice."
"As we face contemporary challenges, the thirst for self-determination remains as strong as ever. It's crucial that we honour our past while advocating for a future that reflects our values and priorities."
