A joint partnership between three South Wales councils has been recognised for its contribution to animal welfare.
The RSPCA gave three PawPrint awards to Shared Regulatory Services for its work in protecting, promoting and improving animal welfare in Cardiff, Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan.
Its services looking after stray dogs was given a platinum award, while their work in animal licensing and kenneling were given gold awards.
SRS also won gold in all three categories last year - with the platinum award being given for when a certain service has achieved the top level for five years or more.
This year, platinum was awarded for the first time in Wales - with Monmouthshire Council also being recognised for its contingency work.
Cllr Ruba Sivagnanam, cabinet member for regulatory services at Vale Council, said: "These awards celebrate the incredible work that has been done by SRS, and we are extremely proud as an organisation to see this dedication and commitment rewarded."
“We value the protection of animals across in the Vale, so this recognition is a step forward in ensuring support for animals continues at this level."

This year saw Welsh local authorities win a total of twelve PawPrint awards, including seven gold.

She added: "As we all strive to create a world that is better for every kind, we're excited this year to be recognising even more great achievements from those going the extra mile for animals, and special awards for those showing unique commitment or innovation to make their communities kinder and safer places for animals and humans alike."
