RNLI crews from the Vale joined an event celebrating women involved in search and rescue operations.
Key organisations and local businesses gathered at Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay to mark International Women's Day.
The new Shannon class all-weaher lifeboat from Barry Dock was crewed by an all-female team, alongside a volunteer from Penarth lifeboat station.
The event gave visitors the chance to meet representatives from other emergency services and S&R organisations such as South Wales Police, the Royal Navy Reserves and the Police Youth Volunteers team.

All of the organisations involved aimed to demonstrate the diverse career opportunities available to women in uniformed services and beyond.
Olivia Harrison, who became the first woman to chair Barry Dock RNLI last month, said: "It was really important for us to be involved today. With all that is going on in the world at the moment, we wanted to be visible because we really do believe that 'you can’t be what you can’t see'."
"We were pleased to take part and to show every little girl that they can be a woman in search and rescue."
