The Vale of Glamorgan's Labour MP has launched a new 'pothole patrol'.
Kanishka Narayan says the campaign is about working with Vale of Glamorgan Council to make sure potholes are repaired efficiently and effectively - and he's "determined to get our potholes fixed."
Speaking following the launch of the campaign, Kanishka said "The Pothole Patrol is a community-driven campaign, with two things in mind. One, to drive awareness of the fact that we're doing a bunch to try and fix potholes across the Vale of Glamorgan, but second to try and do something practical. Accelerating the fixing of potholes by getting people to report it and then doing something practical by fixing them as well."
The Vale MP has launched the campaign with a series of billboards and a branded van, whilst getting out and fixing potholes at some of the Vale's most well-known locations.
Whilst potholes are the responsibility of the county council, Mr Narayan says he feels it is an issue that connects with people in the Vale.
"I've always believed that in politics it's important to connect what is the felt experience day to day with the big picture. As I promised in the end campaign, we've given more funding to the Welsh Government, who've announced more funding, £25 million to fix potholes on major roads."
"I'm confident the council is going to make sure potholes are prioritised."
"The local thing is, I've knocked I've spoken to over 50,000 people across the Vale of Glamorgan in 18 months and potholes kept coming up."
"They're a menace for us, damaging vehicles, causing frustration and they're dangerous. So being able to connect what matters to people with a big picture and the economic stuff that we're doing to fix the foundations of our country."
The Vale MP is hoping to work together with Vale of Glamorgan Council to accelerate the fixing of potholes across the county.
