Detectives are hunting burglars following a spate of break-ins in Barry town centre.
Four businesses in Park Crescent and a fifth on the High Street were targeted during the early hours of Sunday morning.
One owner, who recently opened her new counselling and wellbeing space, said a cash tin with over £200 had been taken.
Ruth John, who runs Reset Wellbeing, said: "I'm absolutely gutted. This is a cost that we can ill afford."
She later added: "Thankfully, no one was hurt, and despite needing a new door, the studio we've worked so hard to create remains untouched and undamaged—a huge relief in what could have been a much more distressing situation."
"While a cash tin containing approximately £200 was taken, we are choosing to view this as an opportunity to reflect, reset, and move forward with even more intention."
"This event has prompted us to invest in further security measures, including CCTV and a new front door, ensuring our peaceful and professional space remains safe and secure."

South Wales Police said doors were damaged at all five of the targted businesses and cash was stolen from some of them.
A spokesperson added: "We recognise that being a victim of burglary is traumatic, whether it’s your home, business, or workplace."
"As always, we ask business to review their security systems and make it clear that there is no cash on the premises overnight. We also ask people to be vigilant of anyone seen hanging around businesses or retail premises during the early hours of the morning."
Police are urging anyone who notices any suspicious activity to call them immediately on 999.
They're also appealing for anyone with information or CCTV footage to contact South Wales Police on 101 or via the live web chat, quoting reference no. 2500156494.
