The event will take place at Tramshed Tech on Thursday 27th February.
Barry Pride has announced a panel discussion evening that will provide insightful conversations, inspiring voices and community celebration.
The event has been announced as part of LGBT History Month, an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, along with the history of gay rights and related civil movements.
The 2025 theme is Activism and Social Change, with Barry Pride putting together a panel of activists and social shakers for an event at Tramshed Tech on February 27th 2025.
Panellists at the event include Dr Lisa Cordery-Bruce, Dr Alessandro Cecarelli, Cllr Ash Lister and the team at Primavera Therapy.
Barry Pride in its current format was created in 2022 as a platform to reduce isolation within the community. The last three years have seen the organisation focus on delivering an annual march leading into a one-day festival, giving the group a solid foundation to grow.
In 2025 the organisation is now composed of 8 trustees, who all have different roles and responsibilities, to deliver an annual event along with new events all year long.
Pierre, Chair of Barry Pride says "We are proud of the progress Barry Pride has made, whilst we remain a grassroots all-inclusive organisation, we are here to educate and normalise what being LGBTQ+ means. We are here, and play an essential part in the main community via our jobs and contributions - let's celebrate this and integrate that fully in our beautiful Barry."
Other events planned for 2025 include a fundraiser at the Buck on the 18th of April, 80s on the Beach at View 62 at the end of May and the Winter Gala at Mount Rooms in December, whilst the main Barry Pride March and one-day festival takes place on King Square and Central Park on Saturday 14th June.
The Speak Out Panel Discussion takes place at Tramhed Tech on February 27th from 6 pm. Tickets and more information can be found at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/.../barry-pride-speaks-out...
