A housing charity based in Penarth has moved into a new home of its own at a community centre.
Home Access was formed over 30 years ago by members of the local Tabernacle Baptist Church to help people struggling to find housing in the Vale.
Its new base is the former St Paul's Church on Arcot Street, which was converted into a £3 million community space and apartments.
The charity says it's helped thousands of people access privately rented properties by providing a bond guarantee and supporting them with issues affecting their security.
Their new office is open three mornings a week from Monday to Wednesday.
A spokesperson said: "The support given by Home Access has not only helped people into safe and affordable homes."
"It has helped many back into work or supported them through education and training and into employment."
"Recently, one of our clients told us 'I'm really grateful for everything you do to help. I know that I can trust you, and whatever it is I can bring it in and you'll always me sort it.''"
"''All these things usually feel too overwhelming for me to tackle by myself, even though to others, they probably seem simple.''"
The spokesperson added: "The staff have assisted with school registrations, accompanied clients to health appointments and even helped organise a funeral."
Home Access Penarth is working alongside Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS), which runs the St Paul's community centre, and is supported by Vale Council.
