A new footpath has been completed outside Sully Primary School to help promote active travel.
Work took place over the summer to construct the new path in an effort to get more pupils and parents to walk, scoot or cycle their way to school.
The Welsh Government awarded funding for the project in January after Vale Council drew up initial design plans with the help of active travel charity Sustrans.
Pupils from the school also got involved by planting dozens of plants in a new flowerbed.

Cllr Bronwen Brooks, cabinet member for sustainable places, said: "As a council we are aiming to promote active travel, such as walking and cycling, for everyday journeys."
“I look forward to seeing how this new footpath encourages parents and pupils to walk, scoot or cycle to school. Embracing more active forms of travel not only boosts health and wellbeing but also benefits the environment."
“This aligns perfectly with the council’s Project Zero commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030.
“The collaboration between the council and Sully Primary School has been key in the development of the new footpath. Thank you to the Active Travel, Parks and Engineering Teams for their joint efforts on this project."
The scheme was funded via a grant from the Welsh Government's Safe Routes in Communities programme.
