Vale residents living with Parkinson's are being invited to join a new community support group.
The Cowbridge-based group, set up by Parkinson's UK Cymru, is holding monthly meetings offering advice, guidance and friendship to those affected by the disease, including people with a connection to the condition.
Around 8,300 people across Wales are known to have Parkinson's, a complex brain condition that gets worse over time and has more than forty symptoms ranging from pain and tremor to anxiety.
Rebecca Lydon, community development coordinator for Parkinson's UK in South Wales, said: "Being diagnosed with Parkinson's can be a shock and adapting to life with the condition can be hard for the person involved and their loved ones too."
"But we know that getting the right information and support at the right time can make all the difference."
"That's why our local groups and networks have an important part to play for those people in Cowbridge and across the Vale of Glamorgan."
"It is vital that we can support everyone affected by Parkinson's, so that together, we can move towards everyone with the condition feeling empowered to take back control of their life with Parkinson's."
The meetings are held at the Y Galon community hub on The Broad Shoard (CF71 7DA) every second Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4pm.
