A visitor ban at hospitals across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan has been lifted following a norovirus outbreak.
Restrictions were imposed at most of the region's hospitals last month following a significant rise in cases.
But on Monday, the Cardiff and Vale health board said the situation was now "much improved" to allow visiting to restart at its sites, including Barry and Llandough hospitals.
A CAVHUB spokesperson said: "Following an incredibly challenging period, during which we had to implemented a No Visiting Policy to manage Norovirus outbreaks across our hospital sites, we are pleased to confirm that these restrictions have now been lifted."
"The temporary restrictions were essential to enable us to manage the outbreak and prevent the spread of infection and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the community for their support and cooperation during this time."
"As a result of this support, we are now in a much-improved position and can restart visiting across our hospital sites."
Although the general ban on visiting has been lifted, some hospitals are still affected by the outbreak and localised restrictions may still be in place.
The health board said the initial move was "not taken lightly, but it was a necessary step" to protect patients, staff and visitors.
They also stressed the importance of following good hand hygiene practices.
A CAVUHB spokesperson added: "We would also like to remind visitors that if you are feeling unwell, especially with symptoms of Norovirus, or respiratory conditions, to please remain at home until you have been clear of symptoms for at least 48 hours."
During the restrictions, visitors were only allowed at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, along with birthing partners and on compassionate grounds where patients were critically ill or receiving end of life care. Outpatient appointments were not affected.
