A campaign aimed at providing a gift for every child supported by Social Services in the Vale, who might otherwise go without, has been relaunched for 2025.
The gift-giving and fundraising campaign, organised by staff at the Vale of Glamorgan Council, is to return for its fourth year.
Whilst Christmas is a time of happiness and celebration for many, for others it can also be a time of worry and financial strain.
Since it began in 2022, Santa's Cause has delivered thousands of gifts to children and young people across the Vale, providing much-needed relief for families.
The Council says this has only been possible thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses and staff.
Those who wish to support the campaign in 2025 can do so by financial donation at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/santascause
Donations will allow the project team to shop for the specific items on each child's Christmas list, ensuring every gift is personal and meaningful.
Whilst not everyone may be able to help with financial support, spreading the word among friends, family and on social media is another valuable way to support the campaign.
Businesses and organisations that would like to be part of Santa's Cause 2025 can contact santascause@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk for more information.
Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: “Santa’s Cause has grown into something truly special over the past four years. Each Christmas, we see the incredible difference that the kindness of our community makes to children and families who may otherwise struggle. Our Social Services teams tell us that the impact is huge."
“Not only do children have a present to open, but families feel supported and remembered at a time that can otherwise be very difficult.
“Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us bring joy to children in the Vale this Christmas.
