Two people were rescued after an incident involving a jet ski at the mouth of the Ogmore river.
The RNLI at Porthcawl launched both of its lifeboats after being called out by the local NCI lookout at just after 6.10pm on Monday evening.
Both casaulties and the jet ski were found in the shallows on the Porthcawl side of the river - but due to the size of the swell, the Atlantic 85 lifeboat could not get close inshore to rescue the pair.
The D-class lifeboat was launched on request by the helm and checked the pair, who were said to be "a little shaken and cold but otherwise unharmed".
They were taken back to shore before being met at Newton Beach car park by the coastguard team from Llantwit Major.
The stranded jet ski was recovered the following morning by Newton Powerboat Club.
