Barry Town Council marked International Women's Day by hosting a coffee morning at the Cemetery Approach Community Centre.
Mayor of Barry, Cllr Catherine Iannucci-Williams was among those who spoke at the event last Friday about the achivements of local women and calls for accelerating women's equity, in keeping with the 2025 theme of #AccelerateAction
Also speaking at the event were Gemma from Crafted Arts, Nina Lazarou Wireworks and Gemma from Social Sisters, along with a performance from the Barry Ladies Choir.
Cakes were also provided by Zoe at the Workshop Kitchen.

The event was rounded off with a quiz on women in history and a fundraising raffle in aid of the Mayor's two chosen charities, Vale Foodbank and Shua Trust Home & Sanctuary.
A spokesperson for Barry Town Council said: "When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world, and when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment."
